Transparent Veterinary Pricing in Peoria, AZ

Wondering how much veterinarians cost should not feel like solving a puzzle. At North Peoria Veterinary Hospital, we believe pet owners deserve clear, upfront information before making decisions about care. Our veterinary pricing is designed to be easy to understand, with common exam, vaccine, surgery, dental, and preventive-care costs explained in advance whenever possible. Every pet is different, so final recommendations may vary based on health, weight, age, and medical needs. Still, our goal is simple: explain the expected costs, answer your questions, and help you make informed choices without unnecessary surprises.

Clear Pricing Helps You Plan With Confidence

Veterinary care can involve several parts, including the exam, diagnostic testing, medications, vaccines, anesthesia, and follow-up care. When those pieces are not explained clearly, it can be difficult to understand the total cost.

We take a more transparent approach. Before moving forward with recommended treatment, we discuss what your pet may need and why. For procedures, we explain what is included in the package and identify additional charges that may apply based on the patient’s condition.

Several factors can affect the final price:

  • Your pet’s size and weight
  • Age and overall health
  • Pregnancy or heat status
  • Obesity-related surgical complexity
  • Retained testicles
  • Additional medication needs
  • Dental extractions
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Unexpected findings during treatment

Our team is happy to review estimates and answer questions before care begins.

Routine Exams and Preventive Care Costs

A scheduled well health exam for either a dog or cat is $74. This visit allows our veterinary team to examine your pet, discuss changes in behavior or health, and make personalized recommendations for vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, and ongoing care.

Common additional services include:

  • Nail trim: $21
  • Anal gland expression: $40.32
  • Ear cleaning: $41.38
  • Microchip: $82
  • Deworming treatment: $58.41
  • E-collar: $15 to $35

For dogs, a heartworm, Ehrlichia, Lyme, and anaplasma screening test is $82.12. For cats, a FeLV, FIV, and heartworm test is $82.

Preventive testing can identify risks that may not be visible during a physical exam. We recommend these services based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, travel, and exposure history.

Dog Vaccine Pricing

Dog vaccines are given in addition to the $74 exam fee. Most vaccines also include a $7.22 medical waste fee.

Current dog vaccine prices include:

  • Bordetella, intranasal or injectable: $42
  • DHP-PV: $42
  • Rabies: $30
  • Leptospirosis: $42
  • Canine influenza: $42
  • Rattlesnake vaccine: $42

Not every dog needs every vaccine. We consider factors such as boarding, grooming, dog park visits, hiking, travel, wildlife exposure, and contact with other dogs before recommending a vaccination plan.

Cat Vaccine Pricing

Cat vaccinations are also provided in addition to the $74 exam fee, with a $7.22 medical waste fee added to each listed vaccine.

Current cat vaccine prices include:

  • Feline leukemia: $42
  • FVR-CP: $42
  • Rabies: $30

Indoor cats may still need core protection, while outdoor cats or cats living with other animals may have additional risks. We explain which vaccines are recommended and why.

Dog Spay and Neuter Pricing

Our dog spay and neuter packages are $492 for pets weighing up to 70 pounds, with an additional $1 per pound for dogs over 70 pounds.

The surgery package includes:

  • Pre-operative laboratory testing
  • IV catheter placement
  • IV fluids
  • Post-operative pain medication

Additional charges may apply when the procedure is more complex. These may include:

  • Heat or pregnancy-related enlarged uterus charge: $52.06
  • Scrotal ablation: $124.53
  • Cryptorchid charge: $99.83 to $220.24
  • Obesity-related complications: $45
  • Deciduous tooth extractions: $87.51 per tooth
  • Post-operative sedatives: $25 to $35

A cryptorchid charge may apply when one or both testicles have not descended normally and require additional surgical exploration.

Cat Spay and Neuter Pricing

Our cat spay and neuter package is $492. As with our dog surgery packages, it includes pre-operative laboratory work, IV catheter placement, IV fluids, and post-operative pain medication.

Possible additional charges include:

  • Heat or pregnancy-related enlarged uterus charge: $52.06
  • Cryptorchid charge per retained testicle: $99.83 to $220.24
  • Obesity-related complications: $45
  • Post-operative sedatives: $25 to $35

We perform a pre-surgical evaluation and explain any anticipated additional costs before the procedure whenever possible.

Dental Procedure Pricing

A routine dog or cat dental procedure is $442. Dental care helps remove plaque and tartar, evaluate gum health, and reduce the risk of painful periodontal disease.

The total may change if a pet needs extractions, advanced imaging, additional medications, or treatment for severe oral disease. Dental concerns that often require additional care include:

  • Loose or damaged teeth
  • Root infections
  • Severe periodontal disease
  • Retained baby teeth
  • Oral masses
  • Advanced bone loss

We discuss the recommended treatment plan and available estimate before proceeding with additional dental work.

Laboratory Testing, Fluids, and Surgical Support

For pets requiring more detailed health screening, a comprehensive chemistry and complete blood count profile is $265.06. This testing may be recommended before anesthesia, when a pet is ill, or as part of senior wellness care.

IV fluids and IV catheter placement are priced at $144.48 when not already included in a surgery package. Post-operative pain medication is $38, and sedatives may range from $25 to $35.

These services are selected based on your pet’s health and procedure. Our focus is always on patient safety, comfort, and appropriate medical support.

What Is Included in a Veterinary Estimate?

An estimate is designed to show the expected services and charges before treatment begins. It may include:

  • Examination fees
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Vaccines
  • Anesthesia
  • Surgical or dental procedures
  • Medications
  • IV fluids
  • Recovery supplies
  • Follow-up care

Because medicine is not always predictable, some costs may change if we discover an unexpected problem. When that happens, we make every effort to contact you, explain the finding, and discuss options before moving forward.
